Digital Verse 2.0

Digital Verse first appeared on Valentine's Day, 2005. Admittedly, it didn't really know where it was going or what it wanted to be. Slowly though, clues clumped up, changes were planned and in July of 2006 Digital Verse 2.0 - the site you are looking at now - was written and released.

For posterity's sake, here is a list of major changes which were made. In no particular order....

• Journals, Cover Art, and the Chapbook Creator were added.
• Author Tagging became the Watch list. and became more prominent in the user profile.
• Icon Generator was written.
• Shouts & Whispers board was added.
• Email communication was dropped in favor of on-site communication.
• Emphasis was switched from the search engine to the user profile.
• Statistics were dropped in prominence.
• The plastic feel of the site was replaced with something more elegant and earthy (notice the backgrounds are almost always taken from real photos) and quicker to load.
• The Editor was canned. Before all poetry had to pass by the editor's eyes, all it really did was stifle the flow of work to the site.
• The matter of monthly issues was dropped.
• The advertising was dropped.
• The ratings system was dropped.
• The link page was dropped.
