What is Digital Verse?

Digital Verse is a merging of polar opposites. It's a high-tech, state of the art, poetry journal. And if you're into poetry it's also a lot of fun.

Basically, people create a member profile, post their poetry, and then trade comments on it with other members of the site. Pieces of poetry that you like you mark as a favorite, and month by month the works which have the most favorites get to appear on the cover of the site.

Digital Verse also let's you build a watch list of friends, so as to keep track of what everyone is doing. It has a journal which allows you to share your life without having to resort to iambic pentameter. And for subscribed members it also has the ability to upload cover art to the site, and build a chapbook from the poetry you keep online.

Most of all, it just looks nice. There are other sites on the web which do the same thing, but they clutter up their screens with advertising and junk and think its cool to let people use brightly colored fonts and pictures in their poetry. We're not a greeting card company. While Digital Verse does allow anyone to post anything and call it poetry, ultimately it's a site for poetic purists. Black words on a white page and a world of images in ones head.

That is what it's all about.
